From Caterpillars to Christ: The Heart Behind This Blog

Thank you for stopping by. My name is Angelica and it is my pleasure to be here. I am a woman after God's own heart and my greatest desire is to know Jesus more deeply and help other women do the same. I have the support of an amazing husband who has understood me through all of the difficult things I have endured in my life. I have 4 kids who are a blessing to my life no matter what part of the world they reside in.
I love to sing worship and share my praise with those around me. I flutter like a butterfly and so does my mind since I think in a different way than most. An ADHD brain is just a brain that is Always Doing Happy Dances. Mine loves to dance and create as many fun experiences as possible. This blog was born from a few of my passions that I couldn't help but share with the world. My love for Jesus, my love for insects, my love for journaling and a passion for helping women recover from all that life can throw at us. It gives me a creative outlet to pour my passion out to women who need to feel the love of Jesus in their life. I wouldn't want to experience all this joy by myself, so I decided to bring you along with me on this wonderful journey I have been experiencing.
There is a lot of transformation that a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly. Women can go through a lot of transformation also. My testimony is filled with twists and turns and bumps and bruises but it's also filled with love, joy, peace and the other fruits of the spirit. I wouldn't be here without the love of Jesus and all the "God moments" that have happened in my life. Since this is just meant to be a brief introduction I will share my testimony at another time. For now, I want to share my fascination with all of God's creation and my love for Jesus.
How My Love for Creation Began
As a child, I was constantly playing in the dirt. I never wanted to be inside and I loved being in nature. If I wasn't climbing through the mountains in the California desert then I was on a hiking trip somewhere else in the country. I have rock climbed, snowboarded, camped, backpacked and beach bummed my way through this life and hit my rock bottoms and mountain tops along the way. In every moment I have been able to find happiness in some sort of insect or creature along the way.
My curiosity in God's tiny creations has kept me busy for hours and hours of time during the course of my life. Butterflies have been my absolute favorite since I was tall enough to chase them, but I didn't really understand their meaning until much later in my journey. Watching a transformation happen in front of your eyes is one thing but experiencing your own transformation is a whole different experience. Sometimes it feels dark and lonely and sometimes you think its over. That's when the most amazing things happen and you begin to see why you were created along with the butterfly. If you compare the two creatures you can see the wisdom, creativity, and attention to detail that God put into each individual creature on planet Earth. It's fascinating to watch and even better to be part of.
How Creation Deepened My Faith
When you go through hard things you feel like the world is actually ending. It feels painful, hard and sometimes excruciating. In the midst of it all when you look down and watch an ant hard at work carrying a stick that is way too big then it gives you some perspective. When that ant gets to where its going with that stick I bet it will be worth it to go through that long journey. When you compare yourself to a small insect that is working extremely hard for what it wants, things become a little easier.
Imagine the long term plan God has for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I stand on that verse because I have seen it happen in my life. I have seen good things unfold in my life that I never saw coming. I have watched that ant get to the ant hill and set down the stick and I have watched myself build my dreams little by little. I still have a long way to go but its God's will, not mine. I'm just here to be the messenger that I am supposed to be by staying obedient to the God I serve with my whole heart.
Watching God transform lives is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced and I can't wait to see what happens next in this journey called life.
Why I Started This Blog
When I hit rock bottom I found The Rock I needed to stand on. I found Jesus in a park where people were bold enough to go out and share their faith. I was able to choose in that moment to either run for the hills or pick up my cross and carry it. I chose the cross. My life has been insanely different since that moment and I have become a new creation in Christ. I have the mind of Christ and I have scripture in my heart.
If those people hadn't been bold that day where would I be? Still living in my car? Still bitter? Still depressed and anxious? who knows but what I do know is that I am now thriving in my life and sharing the same Gospel they shared with me.
I am literally just a girl with Wi-Fi and a dream who needs a savior and wants to help women recover from things they never thought they would go through in their wildest dreams.

The Transformation God Offers
If God can change a caterpillar into the most beautiful butterfly, just imagine what He can do for your life. With the faith the size of a mustard seed, mountains can be moved.
Every believer is on a journey of transformation.

This is my life verse because it shows me that in everything I go through and everything I do, the Lord knows me better than I know myself and will love me through it all. Nothing is a surprise to Him and He will help me if I just call on Him.
My mission is to help women know the same Jesus who rescued me out of the darkness and brought me into the light.
For them to feel loved and held by the God of refuge.
For them to find peace in every circumstance and for them to find a friendly face to be able to turn to when times get hard.
We are overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony so I'm ready to share mine with the world.
